The truth is...I never set out to start a Hebrew school.

It was 2020, and the pandemic had already brought so many changes and challenges to my son’s first-grade classroom that adding Hebrew School on top of everything just didn’t feel right for him. I knew I wanted him to continue his Jewish learning in a way that felt comfortable and supportive. As an elementary school teacher and someone who grew up with Judaism as a central part of my life, it felt natural to create a fun and meaningful Hebrew School experience for him and a small group of his friends. What began as a simple way to share my love for Judaism with my son and his friends quickly grew into something more.

For the next few years, I continued teaching his friends and him—just for the love of it. A few years passed and word of my "Hebrew School" spread.  It became clear that this model—intimate, educational, and full of fun—was resonating with other families too.

And that’s how MitzvAcademy was born!

In our first official year, we welcomed 15 students. By the next year, we had grown to 40! It’s been an exciting and rewarding journey ever since. As we grow, we look forward to continuing to nurture a genuine love for Judaism in our students.
